KitchenAid stand mixers have some interesting accessories, and this heated mixing bowl is definitely of interest!

You can actually turn your stand mixer into a sort of hybrid, a cross between a mixer and slow cooker. The heated mixer bowl will allow you to use the beaters of a stand mixer while warming stuff up like it was in a double boiler.
It doesn’t matter if you have a tilt-head KitchenAid mixer or a lift bowl kind of Kitchen aid stand mixer. There’s a heated mixing bowl model for both kinds of mixer:
- There’s one for Tilt Head KitchenAid Mixers,
- or you can get one to fit the lift stand type of KitchenAid Mixers.
You can even use the mixer bowl as a stand alone unit, like it was a slow cooker for instance. However, it hardly seems worth spending money just for making recipes in a slow cooker. It might be a nice plus once in a while, but if you aren’t going to use this heated Kitchenaid mixing bowl with your stand mixer, then it probably isn’t worth spending the money to buy it.
However, if you like to make chocolates, want to keep an even heat for bread, make fondue, or would otherwise have use for a bowl that allows you to control the heat while mixing the ingredients, this might be just the thing.
The inner bowl is dishwasher safe, so clean-up should be pretty easy. It also has pretty simple controls, so don’t need a master’s degree in technology to be able to operate it, which is another plus. I’m not fond of gadgets that have an inch-thick manual on how to use them!
